Questions and answers
What jobs can I start with no interview?
Delivery and shopping apps like DoorDash, Instacart, Uber Eats, and Walmart Spark, shift apps like Instawork, Wonolo, and Shiftsmart, Amazon warehouse, and day labor through PeopleReady usually need only an ID and a background check. ClockInToday lists 44 of them on the platforms page.
Which gig apps pay the same day?
What jobs can I get at 18 with no experience?
DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, Shipt, Walmart Spark, Roadie, GoShare, Instawork, Wonolo, Shiftsmart, Traba, and TaskRabbit, among others, accept workers at 18 without listed experience requirements. Rideshare driving usually requires being 23 to 25.

Which jobs don't require a background check?
Shiftsmart, Outlier, DataAnnotation, Prolific, UserTesting, Rev, Upwork, Field Agent, Respondent, Clickworker, and Fiverr verify your identity but don't list a criminal background check. Most delivery, driving, and in-home work does require one.
Can I work from home with no interview?
Yes. Outlier, DataAnnotation, Prolific, UserTesting, Rev, Upwork, Respondent, Clickworker, and Fiverr are online. Pay ranges from about $3 to $35 an hour, and most work comes in uneven batches, so treat it as extra income.
How much do delivery drivers really make?
Gridwise's 2025 data shows average gross pay of $12.43 an hour for DoorDash, $18.06 for Uber Eats, $18.67 for Grubhub, and $23 for Walmart Spark. Gas and vehicle wear typically cut that by 25 to 40 percent.
Are gig workers employees?
Usually not. Most app work is independent contractor work, so you pay your own expenses and self-employment taxes. Exceptions with W-2 pay include PeopleReady, Amazon warehouse, and UPS seasonal.
How old do you have to be to DoorDash?
18 in most states, 19 in Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and 21 for new applicants in California. See the DoorDash page.

Do any legitimate jobs charge a fee to start?
A few charge small, clearly posted fees: TaskRabbit has a $25 registration fee, Wag! may charge for the background check, and Thumbtack charges per customer lead. Anything asking you to pay for training kits, equipment, or certification before work is likely a scam.
How fast can I start working?
Shift apps like Instawork and Traba can have you working within days. Instacart approval and background checks each usually take 1 to 4 days. Amazon warehouse jobs often start within 1 to 2 weeks.
